Sync items, bill of materials and files between Vault and your ERP system, in a modern and easy way.
powerGate connects Vault to any ERP system, in a direct way. When you push the button, it happened, now!
powerGate allows you to create and update items in the ERP system, from within Vault and CAD. It transfers your engineering BOM. It shares PDFs to purchase. It can be tailored to behave the way you want, and do what you want.
No need to switch between applications. Create and update ERP items directly from within Vault.
Extend your Vault client with powerGate. It will show you ERP item information in the context of your Vault file or item. Also, you will be able to create and update ERP items with Vault data, right from with Vault. This will strongly improve you working performance and experience.
Getting the BOM in the ERP becomes simple and trasnparent with powerGate. The BOM transfer dialog gives you insight on the changes you will perform.
Creating a BOM in ERP is simple. Updating an existing BOM might be more complex. The BOM transfer dialog of powerGate, checks the state of all your items, compares the BOM with the ERP BOM and gives you feedback on what will be added, removed or changed. This way, you become aware of the impact of your changes, before those will be applied.
Making PDFs, DWG, DXF files accessible to the purchase department and shop floor is a huge benefit for the whole company. Sharing such files automatically when new versions are released is mandatory.
powerGate in combination with powerJobs can create neutral formats of your CAD files and make those available to the ERP system, automatically on each release. Depending on the capabilities of the ERP system, the files might be just in a shared folder accessible by the ERP system, or even stored directly within the ERP system.
In the case of SAP, files will be stored in the according document info record (DIR). Such DIR might be created by powerJobs/powerGate, linked with the according SAP material, the PDF uploaded as original to the DIR and finally set the state to released with SAP.
In the case of other ERP systems, like Microsoft Dynamics NAV, the PDF might be put on a network share and the ERP will be just informed that a new PDF is read for the given ERP item.
Extend your Vault lifecycle with checks against your ERP system. Make sure that wehn you release a file or item, it is in sync with the according ERP item.
powerEvents in combination with powerGate can talk to the ERP System on given Vault actions. For instance, you may check whether the part number used in Vault, is valid in ERP, and if not, prevent releasing the file. Or automatically update ERP item inforamtion, when releasing the according file or item in Vault.
With powerEvents and powerGate, you can drastically improve the quality of your data, and make sure that when something gets released, then all the related information in Vault and ERP are truly in sync.
powerGate can transfer both, the CAD and item bill of material. This means you can work with Vault items, but you don't have to.
In case you work with Vault Workgroup or Vault Professional, but don't want to use items, powerGate leverages the CAD BOM for the transfer to ERP. In case you want to use the item master of Vault Professional, that is welcome as well!
Create items while you are working in CAD, and use the item number for driving file information of your CAD bill of material.
powerGate works hand in hand with Vault Data Standard, which means that the communication to the ERP system can happen from within Vault, Inventor and AutoCAD. For instance, you may create an ERP item, from within Inventor, while you are saving a new file and want to either link it with an existing item or create a new one. Also, you can perform an ERP item search from within your CAD application and insert the item as virtual component, or part reference. This way, your CAD BOM becomes complete and correct in the first place, while you are designing, without leaving your CAD application.
powerGate operations are immediate and direct. No need for file sync, no delay, no data redundancy. Once an operation is done, it is DONE! And if not, then you'll know it right away, and why.
powerGate connects directly with your ERP system. Depending on the ERP system, the way might be different, but the result is the same. In case of Microsoft Dynamics NAV the communication is via webservices, with SAP is via Gatway (REST), with some systems it might be via .Net or via database. So far over 20 different ERP systems have been connected via powerGate, so get in touch with us and let's talk about yours.
Connecting the engineering department with the rest of the company improves overall product quality, reduces costs, and enhances the communication across departments. Autodesk Fusion Lifecycle is the cloud-based PLM solution for accelerating product development processes. Connecting Vault with Fusion Lifecycle is therefore an obvious step. The coolOrange Vault-Fusion Lifecycle Connector make this task super simple.
Four common scenarios will help you get Vault connected to Fusion Lifecycle in less than 5 Minutes, in a reliable and modern way.
New projects in a very early stage need a place where information can be collected and discussed – in Fusion Lifecycle. As soon the project reaches a certain maturity, it’s time to involve engineering. The Vault-FLC Connector lets you define at which stage of the FLC-project and according Vault-project shall be created in Vault, with given properties and sub-folders. Enginers can now start their work with all information set.
Bill Of Material data is the core piece of your product. The coolOrange Vault-FLC Connector lets you publish the CAD BOM to FLC at given Vault lifecycle transition, for instance on release. The Inventor BOM gets extracted and transferred to a Fusion Lifecycle workspace. Missing items are created, and in case the BOM already exists, it gets updated with fresh data. There is no need for using Vault items, it all comes from the Inventor BOM.
Fusion Lifecycle is a great place for managing changes. When a change request becomes an order, it’s time to involve engineering, so that they can apply the requested changes. The coolOrange Vault-FLC Connector lets you map FLC change order states with according Vault file states. When a change order reaches a given state, the related files in Vault will be move to the according state as well. Once the change order is completed, the files in Vault will be released as well.
The Vault-FLC Connector works with Vault 2019 and 2020 and does not require any change of your configuration. It uses 100% of the latest Vault and Fusion Lifecycle API and standard tools such as the Vault Job Processor. No further software is required. Just install, configure which workflows you like to use and get started.
